Year One have worked very hard carrying out scientific research to gather base line data for their plants.
They have counted all of the different types of plants, measured their growth and made careful drawings of each type of plant.

The children have also noted that their cosmos seeds have started to germinate.
Year Five have continue to observe their main crop potatoes which have started to sprout.

They have also planted out strawberry plants and planted pumpkins and sunflowers. We are pleased to report that our chilli plants continue to do well.

Welcome to our new School allotment Blog Diary
Years 1, 2 and 5 have been working very hard since the start of this year planting seeds and potting them on ready to plant outside.
Everyone is really excited now that we are well into Spring. We are all beginning to see the fruits of our labour.
Year One and Two
The Early Years children have developed their own allotment area where they will grow root vegetable and some of their salad crops. They have also planted up the large white containers on the early years steps.
The children have noticed that their potatoes have sprouted and that their carrots are making good progress too.
Year Five
Inspired by their studies of World War II, Year 5 have been digging in since January. They have successfully planted carrots, broad beans, garlic and onions! Well done! Inspired by their success they have moved on to plant potatoes, carrots, leeks, strawberries, runner beans, peas, herbs and chilli peppers!
Year 5 have developed the area between the playground and School Lane and they are also making good use of the sun trap outside their own class room.
